    The Account Executive will focus on new business bookings within our Enterprise segment (greenfield accounts with revenues over $500 M) through the creation of sales leads, establishing ongoing rapport and closing business.     This role requires excellent communication skills, intellectual curiosity and drive to acquire the technical skills you’ll need to ensure every valid bug report is reproducible and provides value to HackerOne customers.

    • Evaluate assigned vulnerability reports submitted by hackers to determine the validity, risk and severity to HackerOne customers

    • Collaborate with hackers to address missing information from reports as well as educate the HackerOne community members when reports are invalid

    • Compose a technical summary for each valid report that includes clear and concise details regarding the impact, steps to reproduce and remediation advice

    • Ensure clear and efficient communication between hackers and customers

    • Proactively identify and solve issues, as well as accept and quickly respond to delegated work; as we are distributed, being able to win as a team to solve problems is critical to our success

    Minimum Qualifications  

    • Proven experience with vulnerability disclosure and bug bounty (experience managing a bug bounty program is a plus but not required)

    • Strong technical knowledge of OWASP top 10

    • Comfortable using security testing tools including Burpsuite 

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Experience using frameworks such as CVSS

    Position Summary

    As a Detection & Response Engineer at HackerOne, you will be a key member of our Information Security team. You will work across the organization to build, iterate on, and continuously improve our detection and response capabilities and operations. 

    Your role will be to lead fortifying and elevating our detection and response capabilities, serving as a cornerstone in the continuous enhancement of our security operations. You'll pioneer innovative detection techniques, crafting high signal alerts that empower swift and effective responses. Leveraging your expertise, you'll streamline operations by developing automation and expanding existing tooling to mitigate alert fatigue. You will spearhead responses to security incidents, establishing robust, standardized processes and crafting playbooks to guide our response efforts.     What You Will Do

    • During your first month, you'll dive into our company culture and community through our engaging onboarding program, H.A.T.C.H. You'll familiarize yourself with our infrastructure, existing security capabilities, and the overall organization, gaining valuable insights into our security landscape. Your focus will be on understanding our detection and response capabilities and developing recommendations to enhance them.

    • As you progress, you'll take the lead on meaningful projects to implement your ideas. Collaboration will be key as you work closely with IT, Infrastructure, and other teams across the company to implement significant improvements to HackerOne's detection and response capabilities. 

    • Design new techniques of detection and use them to create new useful, actionable, high signal alerts. 

    • Develop automation and tune existing tooling and alerting to minimize alert fatigue and maximize effective incident response.

    • Play a vital role in managing security incidents as part of our security on-call rotation. You'll also help develop clear response processes for various types of incidents and playbooks for various alerts generated by our tools.

    Minimum Qualifications  

    • Seasoned security engineer with 5+ years of experience in security and related roles.

    • Experience working with AWS (or similar cloud environment), Linux, OSX, SentinelOne (or other similar endpoint security software).

    • Experience working with SumoLogic (or other similar log analysis and querying software)

    • Familiarity with modern programming languages of some kind such as Ruby, Python, Rust, JavaScript, and similar.

    • Proficient in responding to alerts and incidents within a cloud based SAAS environment.

    • Adaptable thinker, able to creatively solve old problems in new ways and new problems in old ways.

    • Strong collaboration and communication skills with other teams to plan a project, align priorities, lead and model the work, document your decisions, and complete the project .

    • Understands ways to catch wily threat actors.

    • Possesses the fine art of crafting useful, actionable, high signal alerts.

    • Proficiency in automating detection and response processes through API calls, webhook creation, etc.

    • Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation to respond to critical incidents as needed.

    • Process Improvement and Automation: Continuously evaluate people processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement automation solutions. Act as a thought partner in driving process efficiency.

    • Administrative Excellence: Own and execute administrative tasks, such as onboarding, offboarding, leave management, employment verifications, data entry, data reporting and audits with precision, ensuring all mundane tasks are completed to a high standard.  

    • Immigration and Relocation Management: Assist with immigration and relocation processes, ensuring compliance and a smooth transition for employees.

    • Shared Services: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, manage People Team tickets, and drive behavior change using our ticketing system.

    • Documentation and Communication: Maintain a documentation mindset, ensuring processes and communications are appropriately documented and shared on our intranet.

    Minimum Qualifications  

    • People Operations: Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role at a scaling organization

    • Benefits: Experience in global benefits administration, to include managing US Open Enrollment and wellness initiatives

    • Digital First: Experience working within a digital or remote-first operating model

    • Employment Law and Compliance: Familiarity with laws and compliance requirements globally, especially the United States.

    • Innovative People Initiatives: Experience collaborating, implementing or iterating on people-centric initiatives

    • Shared Services: Experience using a ticketing platform (we use FreshServices) to assist employees with HR-related grievances  

    • Lean Team Experience: Ability to thrive in a lean team environment, being resourceful and adaptable.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • HRIS: Excellent understanding of administration and business process within Workday

    • Global HR Experience: Prior experience working with an Employer of Record (EOR) and managing employees outside of the United States.

    • Tier A $94.4K – $118K

    • Tier B $85K – $106.2K

    • Tier C $80.2K – $100.3K
