SINGAPORE -- February 26, 2019 -- HackerOne, the leading hacker-powered security platform, today announced its expanded presence in Singapore with the opening of its official APAC headquarters. Founded in 2012 and with over 300,000 hackers in its global community — the largest community of hackers in the world — HackerOne helps companies find their critical security vulnerabilities fast so they can be safely resolved. Through HackerOne hackers have identified over 100,000 valid vulnerabilities to date, one third of which were found by hackers in APAC.
Located in Central Business District at Telok Ayer, the office is a strategic decision to support the company’s momentum and commitment to improving organizations’ security posture in the region, with a focus on government, technology and enterprise customers.
Fortune 500 companies including Alibaba and Hyatt hotels publicly launched programs on HackerOne recently, and more than 1,200 additional organizations rely on HackerOne to find their critical security weaknesses. These include The Singapore Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), GovTech Singapore, Nintendo, Grab, Zomato, Airbnb, the U.S. Department of Defense, Coinbase, European Commision, Intel, Starbucks, Shopify, Lufthansa, Panasonic Avionics, Qualcomm, Starbucks, Twitter, and Verizon Media (Oath). In 2019, HackerOne will welcome even more APAC organizations to the HackerOne platform on its mission to empower the world to build a safer internet.
As a tech hub at the forefront of global innovation, organizations in Singapore know developing products with security in mind is a priority. The latest contracts and commitment by HackerOne further signal the importance public and private sector entities alike are placing on cybersecurity.
Attracting top talent in APAC will also be a priority for the company, who today announced key hires in its North America headquarters including Liz Brittain as Chief Financial Officer, Suzanne Padilla-Messier as Director of Global Hacker Community Development and Jacob Kaplan-Moss as Director of Technical Operations. These leaders are in addition to the recent appointments of Hilarie Koplow-McAdams, Venture Partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA), to the Board of Directors, Jeff McBride as Vice President of Customer Success, and Deborah Chang as Vice President of Business Development and Policy.
“Investing in cybersecurity is paramount in protecting our world's most sensitive assets and private data,” said David Zhao, Head of HackerOne Enterprise Solutions, APAC, HackerOne. “Singaporean government agencies and technology companies alike are raising the bar for cybersecurity standards across the globe by making training and solutions a priority to protect their customers and citizens. Creating a safer internet is one of the most important challenges society is faced with today and we’re thrilled to open our APAC HQ in Singapore to help local and continental organizations deliver on that mission.”
