Phil Venables

Phil Venables is a Partner at Ballistic Ventures and a four-time CISO with more than three decades of cybersecurity leadership. Most recently, he served as CISO and VP at Google Cloud, where he oversaw a team of security experts in the Office of the CISO, focused on security, compliance, and customer risk. Prior to Google, he was a Partner at Goldman Sachs, initially serving as their first CISO for 17 years, then as Chief Risk Officer for operational risks and an operating partner in their private equity business. He has also served as a member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) and is a Distinguished Expert on the NSA's Science of Security Program.
