Juneteenth: HackerOne’s Day for Action

June 18, 2020 HackerOne Team

Starting this Friday, June 19th will become HackerOne’s annual Day for Action. For Black Americans and communities of color around the globe, Juneteenth is a day of celebration and reflection, commemorating the emancipation of the last remaining slaves in the US.

Going forward, we will use this Day of Action to:

  • Reaffirm our commitment to the Black community
  • Learn about systemic racism and actionable ways to make change
  • Hold a dialogue with our executive team on fostering a more diverse and inclusive organization
  • Give our Black employees a space for celebration and restoration

This is not a day off; rather, we expect all HackerOne employees to be engaged in action throughout the day. It’s an opportunity to understand the work ahead of us and prepare for a more egalitarian future.

Employees are encouraged to cancel all non-critical meetings to attend workshops and events. We’ll offer a workshop around resilience and liberation for our Black colleagues, a roundtable for allies, and much more.

How will you spend this day of action? Let us know on twitter @hacker_0x01!
